Ring Size Guide

Find your perfect fit.

A ring should slide over the knuckle with a little resistance and sit comfortably at the base of the finger. Here is how to find that size: in a gallery, at home, or with a complimentary sizer we send to you.

Four Ways

The surest ways to know your size.

The most accurate methods first. A strip of paper works in a pinch, but a gallery or a real sizer is worth the small wait.

1

Visit a gallery

Any Landing Company gallery will size your finger in a minute, and you can try the style on while you are there. Complimentary, no appointment needed.

Measure at home

Have a ring that already fits the intended finger? A ruler and the chart below will get you there. No ring? A strip of paper works too.

Two ways to measure.

A ring seen from above with its inside diameter marked

With a ring you already own.

Choose a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably: the same hand, the same finger. Lay it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter, edge to edge, in millimeters. Find that measurement in the chart below. Between two sizes? Choose the larger.

Measure across the widest point of the inside circle. A digital caliper is ideal, but a clear ruler held over the ring works well.

With a strip of paper.

Cut a strip of paper about a quarter-inch wide and four inches long. Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger, making sure it passes over the knuckle. Mark where the paper overlaps, then measure from the end to the mark in millimeters. That is the circumference; match it in the chart.

Snug, not tight: the paper should not leave a mark. Repeat twice and use the larger reading.

Prefer paper? Print the guide.

One sheet: a credit-card box to confirm the print scale, actual-size circles for sizes 3 to 13 with the inside diameter under each, and a cut-out paper sizer. Print at 100%, never “fit to page”, and check the card box before you measure.

Good to Know

Tips for the perfect fit.

1
Measure late in the day
Fingers are largest at the end of the day and in warm weather, smallest first thing in the morning and in the cold. Measure in the afternoon, at room temperature.
2
Mind the knuckle
The ring has to pass over it. If the knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of the finger, size to a point between the two: snug at the base, passable at the knuckle.
3
Wide bands fit differently
Wider bands sit more closely against the finger and often need a larger size. If you are considering a wide men’s band or a stack of rings, request a ring sizer or visit a gallery rather than guessing.
4
Between sizes? Go up
If you fall between sizes, the larger size is usually the better starting point. A ring should feel comfortable at the base of the finger while still passing over the knuckle. Resizing options vary by design.
5
Each hand is different
Your hands may fit slightly differently. Measure the exact finger, and the exact hand, the ring will be worn on.
6
Buying a surprise?
Borrow a ring from the right finger for a day, trace its inside circle on paper, or ask a friend or family member who might know. A gallery can size a borrowed ring in seconds.
